Today same-sex marriage was approved by Canada’s House of Commons. They told me on the radio. I guess that this is just like Hockey or Arnold Schwarzenegger – we had it first here in Europe you know. First came The Netherlands and Belgium soon followed.
In october last year me and dad took a trip to the US. It was one of those excellent and practical see-it-all-in-just-ten-days trips (patented by one Tomas Ström). We spent one whole day in Washington DC. I got to see the
Lincoln Memorial site and the White House and the Capitolium and Arlington Memorial and you name it. This was just a week before the election. But the lasting impression wasn’t the historical sites and buildings. Just a stone’s throw from the White House some democtratic fellers had a gathering demanding equal marriage for same-sex couples.
I like these pictures very much. It was a nice day and even though Kerry/Edwards got the finger a week or two later, on this day – these good people plain knew that they would succeed. And they did…
